Why won't things go good for me for just once?...
It seems like everything always goes wrong for me. It's really depressing and makes me want to crawl under a rock and die. First of all, I recently got a job at the Best Western Hotel here in Chester as a laundry person. I thought that it was the easiest yet the most boring job in the world. So after English 101 on Tuesday, I got a call from my boss and she tells me that I'm fired! So I asked why and she said its because I complained about the laundry room being so hot and because I complained that I only got a ten minute lunch break. I think I had a right to complain. There is no air conditioning, no fans, even no windows in this laundry room so it is blazing hot in there all the time! It can get up to 100 degrees in there! So on Wednesday, when I went to pick up my first and last paycheck, I bitched out my boss telling her that it wasn't fair that I lost my job but it didn't do one bit of good. So I'm currently thinking about calling and reporting the Best Western Hotel for unsafe working conditions but I don't know yet. So lucky me... no job... no money... nothing...

I dont blame you for complaining! My boss wanted to save money this summer, so we didnt have any air conditioning at all! I work in a hardware store, and it gets really stuffy, so it was pretty much unbearable at times. The only days he turned it on were the ones with heat warnings. But yeah, thats a pretty crappy reason to give you, because you had a right to. I hope everything eventually gets better!
ReplyDeleteI think it's ridiculous for firing you just for complaining a little bit. If it was me, I'd have complained also. Especially when you only get a ten minute lunch break; that is so little time i don't even think you can call it a break.
ReplyDeleteAlthough... I have a hard time believing they would fire you just over complaining... o.O
Good luck finding a new job! I wish you the best!
By the way, don't feel too bad over getting fired; everyone has trouble with jobs. I've gotten written once over stupid things that I have done. It happens to everyone.
ReplyDeleteNow you can find a better job that suits you. :)
liar. i know for a fact that there is a fan in there..
ReplyDeleteThat sucks. Life will get better you just going through a rough spot. If I could not complain about work I don’t know what I would do. However I love my job and I sill complain about it. It’s wrong that you got fired over you complaining about work. It is probley a good thing your got fired if you did not like it. I would not like it if was hot all of the time, I only got a 10 min lunch break. I would have quit my job if I had to work in those conditions. Just get out there and stare looking for a new job. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteWell annaleigh, your right. A laundry person does sound quite simple, however boring. But, on the bright side of things, there are always plenty of things to think about, keep yourself entertained while being left at your own devices. It does suck to here you got fired, but even with all the time to think, is it worth sitting in the blazing heat? Who knows, it might be. Everyone values their personal space, and freedom from listening to other people all day long... I wish you luck my friend, it's damn near impossible to find a tolerable job. Especially when you live where we do.
ReplyDeleteHey I know you posted this comment like forever ago but I am just seeing it lol. I happen to work for the restaurant that is affiliated with that hotel so I know just what kind of fuck wads you have to deal with. Trust me you and not loosing out on anything and are probably lucky to have gotten fired so quickly. I'm guessing you probably did not work there long enough to meet Bob the big owner lol he is the biggest douche bag you could ever meet and I swear one day he is gona make me straight walk out on my job and Im the cashier so good luck getting the money in right without one of those! lol I guess that's just my opinion though.
